12 September 2012

Iberia is becoming a leader in airport Management and is posting the 7th GroundStar Users Conference, an international congress organised by Inform GmbH, a firm specialized in technological solutions for optimising airport handling resources and the company that developed Iberia hub control system at Madrid-Barajas airport.

The congress, held in Madrid and closing on Friday, September 14, is attended by more than 200 executives from 40 major aviation companies, including such airlines as Iberia, Air France, British Airways, Emirates Airlines, and Qatar Airways; airports such as those of Dubai, Frankfurt, Doha, and Sheremtjevo in Moscow; plus handling agents like Iberia Airport Services, Groundforce, Flightcare, and Swissport.

Iberia is opening the congress, and will present a paper about using the latest technology to optimise ground handling services for aircraft and passengers. As host, the company will take participants on a visit to its hub at T4 in Madrid-Barajas airport, where they can admire the latest improvements introduced under the Ágora project, and visit Hub Control, where Iberia uses the most advanced technological means to coordinate and monitor all its handling operations. In this control centre the company has deployed the GroundStar system created by Inform, and used by major operators for effectively planning their daily work in airports.
